Donohue Pass Camp to Gladys Lake Camp (13.0 miles)

Up rather early again this morning. The morning temperature was 36 degrees and all our gear was wet from the morning dew. When I tried to fold my ground sheet it froze into s stiff sheet. Started hike at 5:55 AM. The mosquitoes are pretty bad out here. I ran out of drinking water late last night so acquiring some this morning is a priority. Hiked until 7:15 AM. then stopped to treat water and dry out gear. The morning has warmed up rather nicely at 68 degrees. We crossed Island Pass at 9:30 AM. We arrived at Thousand Island Lakes at 10:20 AM. Nice view across lake of Banner Peak. Finished day at Gladys Lake at 4:30 PM. The day could be categorized as the day of lakes. We passed some of the most beautiful clear lakes I have ever seen. The color of the lakes were amazing they took on every shade of blue and green imaginable. The lakes were so clear that you could see every pebble, stick, and fish. We didn't run into very many other hikers on this day. Only one that I remember and that was at Garnet Lake.
